ToolLab Is Back Under Original Ownership
ToolLab Is Back Under Original Ownership
We are excited to share that ToolLab is once again under the ownership of the original team.
For more than 35 years, ToolLab has helped contractors, maintenance teams, hospitals, and facility crews create cleaner, safer, and more efficient jobsites.
ToolLab began in 1989, when Charles Melino Sr., a remodeling contractor with nearly twenty years of experience, developed a better way to control construction dust. Frustrated by dust spreading through customers’ homes and businesses, he invented the Curtain-Wall® temporary dust barrier system and was awarded the first U.S. patent for a temporary dust barrier designed specifically for remodeling and construction work.
What started as a single invention quickly grew into Curtain-Wall Company and eventually ToolLab. Along the way, our products became standard equipment for contractors, hospitals, laboratories, hotels, maintenance crews, and facility teams across the country.
A Return to Our Roots
Over the years, the company changed hands and operated under different ownership. While many customers continued to use and rely on ToolLab products, we know that some experienced inconsistency in service, support, and communication.
Today, we are proud to return ToolLab to its original roots.
The original ownership team is once again leading the company, and manufacturing has returned to Rhode Island. We are recommitted to the values that built ToolLab in the first place:
- High-quality, contractor-tested products
- Fast, reliable shipping
- Knowledgeable customer service
- Made-in-USA manufacturing
- Real-world innovation driven by actual jobsite needs
What Customers Can Expect
We are actively improving every part of the company, from product quality and inventory to shipping, communication, and customer support. Our goal is not simply to continue ToolLab — it is to make ToolLab better than ever.
You will continue to see the products you know and trust, including Curtain-Wall®, Speedy Wall™, Carpet Barrier™, Floor Barrier™, TackMat™, and many others. You will also see new improvements, expanded product lines, and a renewed focus on helping our customers solve problems faster and more effectively.
Thank You
Most importantly, we want to thank our customers.
Many of you have supported ToolLab for years, and some of you have been with us since the very beginning. Your loyalty, patience, and feedback have helped make this company what it is today.
We are grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust again and to continue building products that make your work easier.
Welcome back to ToolLab.
